Our Legacy
RSD has been a leader in dance education in Central Florida for over two decades. Our reputation for inspiring young people to be the best dancers and people they can be is one of the primary reasons for our success.
We believe a teacher's influence on a student's future extends far beyond what goes on in the classroom. Our teaching philosophy is centered on instilling a passion for dance while building self-esteem and confidence in every child. The students' well-being is our priority; their technical capability is secondary.
Laura Norton
Owner and Artistic Director
A Boston native, Laura began dancing before the age of two and began competing with her studio’s team at the age of 10. Over the next eight years, Laura traveled regionally and nationally with the In the Spotlight Dance Company, winning numerous title and group awards. She continued her knowledge under the teachings of Susan Montrond, Jennifer Freeman, and renowned studios around the Boston area. Laura developed a love for teaching and sharing her passion with others at a very young age when choreographing for drama clubs and show choirs, and soon choreographed for theatre companies, music programs, and schools across Massachusetts. She graduated from Wheaton College (MA) with degrees in her two favorite things: Dance and English Literature.
Laura moved to Central Florida to live and work in the place where dreams come true, working and performing through the theme parks from 2012-2017, after which she segued into Walt Disney Imagineering to work with the ride engineering team.
Having taught at RSD since 2013, Laura, alongside her parents, excitedly and proudly took ownership of the studio in 2025.
